Cartmel Class
Our broad and balanced curriculum has been designed to support the students to reach their full potential.
The subjects are built on each year and lead towards some external qualifications through Functional Skills, Duke of Edinburgh Award and ASDAN Accreditations. ASDAN My Independence modules are mapped to the four ‘Preparing for Adulthood’ pathways; Friends, Relationships and Community, Good Health, Independent Living, and Employment. KS3, 4 and 5 are working on the ASDAN My Independence Frameworks.
The focus on Independent Living Skills (ILS) is a key aspect of the curriculum and helps to prepare students for their exciting new chapter after Sandside Lodge School. This is a golden thread throughout the curriculum.
