What is it?
Sandside Lodge School have fantastic links and support from our local town in Ulverston. We utilise our local facilities for a variety of learning opportunities as part of our varied curriculum. We have fantastic support from our local businesses when organising our work experience placements for our students. This experience is extremely valuable to our students. Thank you to all past and future support.
Our Community
Local Events
We hold a coffee morning at Ulverston’s Coronation Hall. All local residents are welcome to come along. Our local community give us fantastic support and we always look forward to hosting our yearly event. Last year we raised £478.93.
RDA- our students enjoy attending horse riding once a week, where they work on physical, social and emotional skills, looking after the horses, learning about their equipment and challenging their own physical abilities.
Youth Sport Trust- our Sports Councilors work with schools in the local area to run sports events, in school and out in the community, teaching young students new sports, as well as developing their team work skills. This is lead by Hilary Stephenson who is our Youth Sports Trust Coordinator.
Our students have helped raise funds through local bag packs at Booths Supermarket. We thank all local support and look forward to seeing you again soon.
We enjoy joining with the local churches for celebrations across the year, including; Christmas, Easter and Harvest.
We have visited the Parish church and the Methodist church for services.
Croftlands community church have lead our Harvest Assembly in school, where we brought donations for the Foodbank.
We hosted our annual MOVE Day, where we invited local Primary, Secondary and SEN schools to take part in a range of activities to develop their functional mobility.
Students enjoyed exploring our school facilities, including the Forest, Rebound and soft play. they also enjoyed going into the experience room where they took part in fun and challenging activities lead by the MOVE team.
